This famous horn needs no introduction, but in case you are out of the loop, this is the highly sought after Selmer Mark VI alto sax! This is the cleanest Mark VI around. We purchased from the original purchaser. A nice lady that got in last year of high school in 1960 and only played it for the last half of senior year and then it sat in the closet till now. Unbelievable condition. No dents! minimal finish wear. Looks amazing and looks to have had no major repair. Has the original Selmer C* mouthpiece and Selmer ligature. These pads look great! After we cleaned, sanitized and serviced this horn, out tech said this horn sounds Great! It is ready to play! It won't last long. This is a great example of an extremely clean vintage Mark VI Alto Sax.

The Mark VI was first produced by the Selmer company in 1954. It was the sixth new model to come from the factory since they began making their first saxophone in 1922 and boasted a bunch of new design features. The Mark VI models were produced from 1954-1971. The Selmer Mark VI brought the best combination yet of key work, tone, and intonation.

The sound is pure & focused, and the horn really takes whatever you can give it. This is a great touring horn and just requires the regular maintenance. It is reliable and the sound + intonation is like no other. 

This saxophone is shown in amazing condition, especially for its age. It plays and sounds great. When you first open the case, you will be amazed from the shine! There is some minimal wear on the body of the horn like some very minor scratches,  etc., but there is nothing major that would affect the sound or playability.

This sax comes complete with a vintage neck strap, original Selmer mouthpiece, gold ligature and gold mouthpiece cap. Lastly the hardshell case is in good condition and all of the latches and handle function as they should. There are some blemishes on the case but nothing major. The interior is very clean and in good condition for its age.

Midlothian Music is a service center, we soak, clean and sanitize every instrument. The tone holes and inner bore are scrubbed as well as all of the keys and armature. During reassembly we adjust all keys to a light finger touch. 

Lastly the mouthpiece is soaked, scrubbed and sanitized and placed in a zip loc bag. Pads and key corks inspected, cleaned and replaced if needed. Leak tested before placing in cleaned case. This instrument plays extremely well and you won't be disappointed! 

To clean, sanitize and adjust costs are over $450.00 and this horn is already done!
